Responsible entity and scope

This policy explains the privacy practices of the Creasewheel Cambridge Android application. Cambridge Cricket Association (Incorporated) is identified as the responsible organization for the app. Its registered postal address is C/- Vosper Law, 66 Alpha Street, Cambridge 3434, New Zealand. This policy applies to the app's local features and the support information supplied with it. It does not govern an external browser, external website, app store, device operating system, emergency service, sporting body, venue, coach, club, match official or other independent service.

Offline application design

Creasewheel Cambridge is designed to work without an Internet permission, account, login or remote backend. Its learning cards, illustrations, cricket scenarios, privacy text and source references are packaged inside the installed application. The app does not silently connect to a server, fetch remote content, synchronize progress or transmit selections. If a user deliberately opens a source link, Android hands that request to an external browser or another user-selected application; the receiving service then operates under its own terms and privacy practices.

Information stored locally

The app may store a small, bounded set of preferences on the device: the most recently opened app section, selected learning-card indexes, the current six-ball exercise position, field-board selections, completed readiness prompts, the chosen scorebook tab and the reduced-motion preference. These values describe app interface state rather than a person's identity. The app provides no name, email, phone, address, date-of-birth, player profile, team roster, attendance, live score, injury record, free-text journal, photograph, recording or contact-list field.

Purposes of local processing

Local preferences are used only to restore the interface, show which bounded prompts have been selected, continue a user-controlled learning sequence and respect an accessibility choice. They are not used to rank players, evaluate talent, infer health, create a behavioural profile, make eligibility decisions, personalize advertising or measure time spent for engagement pressure. The app's success is intended to support thoughtful activity away from the screen, not to maximize screen time.

Information not collected

The app does not collect or transmit personal information, precise or approximate location, device advertising identifiers, contacts, messages, photos, videos, audio, browsing history, financial information, authentication credentials, health information, fitness measurements, diagnostic information, files, calendar entries or app-usage analytics. It does not create an account or remote profile. It does not request a child's name, age, school, team, guardian details or location, and it does not provide private messaging or public posting.

Permissions and device access

The release is designed with no requested Android runtime permissions. It does not request Internet, camera, microphone, location, Bluetooth, nearby-device, contact, calendar, notification, phone, SMS, body-sensor or broad file-storage access. The app uses ordinary on-device display, touch and local-preference capabilities supplied by Android. A future release that materially changes this permission boundary must update the app, policy and relevant store declarations before distribution.

Advertising, analytics and tracking

Creasewheel Cambridge contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, attribution SDK, tracking pixel, behavioural advertising, cross-app identifier, remote configuration or third-party login SDK. It does not sell personal information, share data for targeted advertising or profile users across services. The absence of these components describes this release only; any future material change would require an updated disclosure and an accurate review of the new binary before publication.

Sharing and third parties

Because the app does not transmit personal information to Cambridge Cricket Association (Incorporated) or an app-operated server, the app has no app-collected personal information to sell, rent or share with advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers or cloud processors. Android, Google Play, a device manufacturer, an external browser and a website deliberately opened by the user are independent services and may process information under their own notices. This app cannot control those services and does not receive their browsing data.

External sources and user-initiated contact

The Source Scorebook contains references to public resources from organizations such as New Zealand Cricket, Marylebone Cricket Club, Sport New Zealand and Waipā District Council. Selecting a source opens an external application only after the user's action. The app does not embed those sites in a hidden WebView and does not monitor the resulting visit. If a user contacts the organization outside the app, the information in that correspondence is governed by the receiving channel and the organization's applicable practices, not by local app storage.

Children, young people and safeguarding

Community cricket may involve children and young people, so the app is intentionally designed without chat, direct messages, public profiles, follower systems, location sharing, media uploads, rosters or identity fields. Learning activities involving young participants should occur with appropriate guardian, school, club or authorized-adult oversight and according to current safeguarding procedures. The app is not a reporting channel for safeguarding concerns. Immediate danger should be addressed through local emergency services, and other concerns should be raised through the appropriate guardian, organization or safeguarding authority.

Cricket, health and safety limitations

The app offers general educational prompts about observation, communication, equipment awareness, hydration breaks, weather awareness, field setup and community cricket. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, concussion assessment, injury clearance, emergency dispatch, certified first-aid instruction, live weather warnings, pitch certification, official scoring or an umpiring decision. Users must follow qualified professionals, guardians, coaches, venue managers, match officials, governing bodies and emergency services. Stop an activity and obtain appropriate help when safety may be at risk.

Retention

Bounded interface preferences remain on the device until the user resets the app, clears its storage, uninstalls it or the operating system removes the data. The app does not set a remote retention period because it does not operate a remote account or server copy. Source content and policy text remain part of the installed package until the app is updated or removed. Users should not use the bounded selections as a permanent record of participation, performance, safeguarding, medical status or official match activity.

Deletion and reset

The About screen includes a Reset app choices control that clears app-managed preferences and returns the interface to its initial state. Android settings can also clear the app's storage, and uninstalling the app removes its ordinary local data subject to the operating system's behaviour. There is no account-deletion request because this release creates no account and holds no app-operated server copy. Data held independently by an app store, browser, device backup service or external website must be managed with that service.

Security, backup and device transfer

The app minimizes privacy risk by avoiding identity fields, network transmission and third-party runtime SDKs. Its manifest disables Android application backup, and data-extraction rules exclude app domains from cloud backup and device transfer. Device-level controls such as screen locks, operating-system updates and access permissions remain the user's responsibility. No application can guarantee absolute security on a compromised, shared or modified device, so users should not treat local interface selections as a secure repository for sensitive information.

User choices and accessibility

Users choose whether to open learning sections, mark readiness prompts, reveal scenario reflections, follow an external source or reset local choices. The app does not require completion streaks, notifications or engagement rewards. A reduced-motion option limits nonessential transitions. Android accessibility and font-size settings may also affect presentation. Users may leave the app at any time, and local selections do not affect membership, team selection, eligibility, coaching access or any real-world service.

International and off-device transfers

The app itself does not send app-managed personal information to Cambridge Cricket Association (Incorporated), another country or a remote processor. A user-initiated external-browser visit may involve systems located outside New Zealand, depending on the selected website, browser, network and service provider. Those transfers are outside this app's offline runtime and are governed by the relevant external provider. The app does not receive a report of the user's external browsing activity.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated when the app's features, data practices, legal requirements or distribution arrangements change. A material change should be reflected consistently in the in-app policy, public HTML policy, store listing, Data Safety answers and exact released binary. The effective and last-reviewed dates identify the version packaged with this release. Users should review the policy supplied with each update. Historical wording should not be relied upon to describe a later version whose behaviour has changed.
